Northern Wave’s annual pool party will this year be hosted at Marbury Park Swimming Club - an outdoor pool set in lawned gardens and surrounded by woodlands.
Where
Marbury Country Park is situated near Northwich and is easily accessible by road and train. For those arriving by car, the pool is approximately 40 minutes away from Manchester city centre and there is ample parking in the pay and display car park. For those arriving by rail, there are regular trains from Piccadilly to the nearby stations of Lostock Gralam and Northwich (which are both approximately 10 minutes away by car). It is hoped that there will be plenty of people willing to car share so please do let people know if you are able to offer up an empty seat!
When
The party will be held on Saturday 1st July and runs from 7pm until 9pm.
Food options
For those wanting to make a day of it, you could have lunch in a nearby pub before going for a walk in the park before our swim.
Alternatively, there are picnic benches within the pool grounds and there will be gas barbecues available for our use. Feel free to bring your own food and drink, but please note that alcohol is not permitted on the pool grounds.
Tickets
The club will be subsidising the pool’s entry fee by 50%. We won’t be producing physical tickets but you can pre-pay for your entry at the door of any of our regular club sessions, or alternatively, you can make a card payment on the day of the party. The cost will be £2.50 for Northern Wave members, and £5 for guests.
Our Saturday session on 1st July will not be running, so the pool party will be free for members who pay for their Saturday sessions by standing order.
