Normal Business

  1. Chair's Remarks

No specific comments.

  1. Treasurer

Bank balance sitting around £8500. GLL haven’t yet invoiced for the next quarter, so we are sitting on some money that is due to be paid out. Some competition expenses are yet to be paid, too. Sessions are running at around £400 down day-to-day.

We are looking to switch the savings account to an instant access account, to enable quicker access to funds when needed.

  1. Membership

Tuesday and Wednesday sessions running below previous years. Recent Saturday sessions have felt quiet. Possibly due to summer holidays / good weather.

  1. Coaching

Edwin notes coaching is going well. James has been continuing to volunteer on Monday evenings and has signed up to his L2 course in January. Daniele has completed his L2 course and is awaiting certification. The club has a good roster of coaching support.

  1. Welfare

A welfare issue has been raised and discussed by the committee.

Other Business

  1. Fee increases

Following the AGM the committee has agreed a pricing structure to be implemented from September 2025, and details will be communicated to members in due course.

  1. Competition update

Preparations continuing for the competition.

We have over 130 entrants currently.

  1. Information for trans swimmers

The committee will be updating the website so that we have specific information available to new trans swimmers.

  1. Welcome email for new members

The committee will be preparing a welcome email to all new members with details about the club, social events etc.

  1. Sport England grant (usage and timing of purchases)

We have accepted a grant from Sport England for the purchase of new training kit. The money is awaited, and the committee will be looking at purchasing kit after the competition, when there is more time available to consider this further.

Photos on social media

Sarah will be reminding members that the club posts images on social media and will ask anyone who does not want images sharing to confirm so.
